The Tranquility of the Enchanting Lily Ponds
The centerpiece of the gardens is the six large cement ponds arranged in the general shape of a flower. The center circular pond is surrounded by four oval-shaped ponds, the petals, along with one hourglass pond that contains a small waterfall, the stem).

The historic cast iron pond near the cottage is historic and unique, It holds an array of wildlife forms cast into the exterior design.

The Mayfield ponds have recently been replanted as specimen lily ponds.
Volunteers help tend the ponds. If you would like to help with pond maintenance (such as skimming the ponds, planting lilies, cutting dead stems) please contact Janice with interest in our Volunteer Workdays for workdays held on the second Saturday of each month. Thanks!
